How to Install a Bluetooth Device on a Dell X5
The Dell Axim X5 PDA is a Microsoft Windows-based handheld computer that has many of the same functions as laptop or desktop computers. With the Axim X5, you can create and edit Microsoft Excel and Word documents, record audio notes, listen to MP3s, read ebooks, watch video clips and play a wide array of games. The Axim X5 also features a Secure Digital, or SD, card slot that allows you to expand your media storage, and a CompactFlash Type II expansion card slot that gives you the ability to wirelessly connect to devices via a TrueMobile 802.11 wireless card or a CompactFlash Bluetooth card.

- USB data transfer cable
- Bluetooth CompactFlash card driver CD
- Bluetooth CompactFlash expansion card

Connect your X5 to your computer using the USB data transfer cable.

Insert the driver CD into your computer's optical drive and follow the on-screen instructions to complete driver installation. A dialog box appears to confirm that the installation process successfully completed.

Disconnect the USB cable and perform a soft reset of your X5 by using the stylus to press the reset button on the left side of the PDA, located right below the voice record button.

Remove the CompactFlash blank from the CompactFlash slot on the top of your X5. The blank is a piece of plastic designed to keep debris from getting into the CompactFlash slot when it is not in use.

Insert the Bluetooth CompactFlash expansion card into the slot. Your X5 is now configured for Bluetooth use.
