How to Fix Pitch in VST
If you find mistakes in a singer's pitch when you're working with a recorded vocal track, using a VST plugin to fix the pitch can save the time and money that you'd otherwise spend rerecording the vocal. VST pitch correction plugins analyze the pitches of notes in recorded audio, then shift them to the correct pitches. If the pitch of a note is nearly correct, apply automatic pitch correction to nudge it into place; if a note is drastically off, manually change its pitch.

Use Antares' Auto-Tune VST plugin to fix the pitch of a vocal track. Auto-Tune has become famous for its robotic vibrato effect; however, its primary purpose is pitch correction. Add the Auto-Tune VST to a vocal track, then select the key signature and scale of the vocal from the drop-down boxes at the top of the VST's window. Start playing the vocal, then adjust the "Pitch Amount" knob to apply more or less pitch correction. If the vocal is seriously off-key, switch to "Graphical Mode," click "Track Pitch" and play the vocal track through to the end. Click and drag the notes that appear in the VST window up or down to fix their pitches.

Fix the pitch of a recording using the Celemony Melodyne Editor VST plugin. Insert the Melodyne VST on an audio track, click "Transfer" in the plugin's window and play the vocal track through to the end. Open the "Algorithm" menu and select "Melodic." Open the "Edit" menu and choose "Select All." Click the "Correct Pitch" button. Use the "Correct Pitch Center" slider to move the notes to their correct pitches; adjust the "Correct Pitch Drift" slider to determine how much variation in pitch Melodyne allows. To fix drastically off-pitch or wrong notes, click and drag the notes up or down in the Melodyne window.

Correct the pitch of recorded audio with Waves' Tune VST plugin. Add Waves Tune as an insert effect on the vocal track, then play the vocal. Waves automatically creates a representation of the notes' pitches. Click the "Select All" button, then use the "Ratio" knob to determine how much pitch correction Waves Tune applies. To move a note to an entirely different pitch, drag the box around the note up to raise the pitch or down to lower it.
