How to Print a Tattoo

How to Print a Tattoo thumbnail
Print a clear image of your tattoo to show your artist before getting it drawn on you.

Deciding to get a tattoo is a life-altering action. Tattoos are permanent, and you want to ensure that the ones you place on your body are meaningful and won't embarrass you or look odd when you're older. Part of getting your tattoo is ensuring that your artist knows exactly what you want and transfers the design from paper to your body correctly. Don't present a subpar tattoo printout to your artist.

Instructions

    • 1

Find or design your tattoo on a computer. Be sure the image is clear and shows all details you want to stand out. If you have an image you or someone else drew, scan it into your computer to sharpen it or fix any imperfections.

    • 2

Verify that your printer has adequate ink levels to print the image.

    • 3

Insert high-quality paper into the paper tray. Higher quality paper shows detail better, especially color variations, line thicknesses and clarity. You also may opt to use card stock or special photo paper.

Click "Print" in your image editing program to print the image. Make the image larger if you need to show details more accurately or smaller if it appears pixelated or grainy.
