How to Archive Folders on a Kindle

How to Archive Folders on a Kindle thumbnail
Archived folders are available on all Kindle devices and mobile apps.

Amazon Kindle eReader devices are capable of storing hundreds of books at the same time, and a good way to keep your collection organized is to use the folders feature. When you create a new folder on your Kindle and add books to it, the folder is automatically archived to Amazon's servers. That way, if you buy a new Kindle or use the Kindle app on a different mobile device, you can access your archived folders.

Instructions

    • 1

Press the "Home" button on your Kindle.

    • 2

Press the "Menu" button, select the "Turn Wireless On" option and press the "Select" button. If you do not enable wireless before creating a folder, it will not be archived to Amazon's servers.

    • 3

Press the "Menu" button again and select the "Create New Collection" option.

    • 4

Use the keyboard on the bottom of the Kindle to enter a name for the new folder.

    • 5

Press "Save" to create the folder and archive it on Amazon's servers.

    • 6

Press "Add/Remove Items" to start adding books to your new archive folder.

    • 7

Highlight each item you want to add to your archive folder and press the "Select" button to place a check mark next to it.

    • 8

Press "Done" when you are finished adding books to your new archive folder.
