How to Export From cPanel to Plesk

cPanel and Plesk are two web-based server management programs. If you are migrating from a cPanel server to a Plesk server, you need to set up the process to export the cPanel files and settings carefully. On larger servers, this export takes several hours (or longer), so you don't want to have to redo it. Luckily, the Plesk Migration Manager makes the process relatively straightforward. You have to give it access to your cPanel account, then it will export the files to the new server and complete the migration automatically.

Instructions

    • 1

      Log in to Plesk.

    • 2

Click "Tools & Utilities," then "Migration Manager."

    • 3

      Click "Start New Migration."

    • 4

Click "Transfer data from another server."

    • 5

Enter your cPanel server information like IP address, user name and password, then click "Next."

    • 6

Click "Save Current IP Mapping to File," then click "Next."

    • 7

Wait for the progress bar to complete. This could take several hours. You can close the window or log out of Plesk at any point. The export is happening server-to-server and doing other things on your computer won't affect it.

Check "Remove temporary files" in the window that pops up when it finishes, then click "OK."
