How Do I Play a BUP File?
Each DVD disc contains actual video files and ".BUP," or backup, files. The BUP files are written to the disc along with the Video Object (VOB) files. The BUP files are automatically played in the event the VOB files are corrupt or are non-retrievable. You can also play BUP files directly, without having to access the VOB files. The files contain audio and video data and individual DVD chapter information, known as IFO.
