Instructions

    • 1

Be selected to serve on a jury. Jurors are selected from the juror pool; thus, jury duty only applies when you are selected from the juror pool for a criminal or civil jury trial.

    • 2

Successfully complete jury duty. You must not be dismissed for failure to appear, or for violation of any rules of behavior.

    • 3

Wait for payment. Juror payments will be mailed to you within two weeks of completion of jury duty. You also have the option to donate your jury payment to charity. According to Dallas County Chief Judge Jim Foster, over 2009 and 2010 jurors have donated $522,549 to the Dallas County Juvenile Department's charity fund.
