How to Put Together a Sponsorship Packet for a Charity Event
Charities are generally non-profit organizations that work toward a worthy cause, such as clothing the poor or feeding the hungry. You can organize a charity event to help promote the cause and raise awareness of a particular societal issue or to help raise money for the charity to continue to operate. If your charity does not have extra funds to put on such an event, you can put together a sponsorship packet for the event and get local businesses to sponsor it instead of using the charity's funds.

1
Write the introduction letter to tell the recipient your charity, along with some background information about the event. Be sure to include what donations will go towards.
-
2
Enclose a postage paid business envelope in the packet to make it easy for recipients to send donations. Also, include a donation form to pay by credit card, rather than check.
-
-
3
Give suggested donation amounts as part of the donation form. Label each with a different level, such as a gold donor or a platinum donor. This way, donors can simply check a box and provide their credit card information or write a check to donate.
-
4
Put in a registration form for the event when relevant. Some charity events, such as a lunch, include donors and guests, which can sometimes overlap.
-
5
Add some literature about the charity organization, such as an article about last year's charity event or the various causes and initiatives the charity is involved with.
