How to Clear a Zombie Process
Zombie processes linger in the process tables of Linux computers even after they have executed and no longer use up processing power. The most common reason for zombie processes is bad programming -- the person who wrote the code did not tell the program to erase itself from the process table after you exit the program. Clear zombie processes out of your process table when you have too many of them.
