Pour darkened iodine on a cotton ball.

Rub the area where the cherry wood is scratched with the iodine-soaked cotton ball. The iodine seeps into the scratch and makes it appear the same color as the rest of the wood. Reapply as necessary until the scratch is completely covered.

Use furniture polish made for cherry wood over the scratch to clean and shine it. This also helps cover the scratch more completely.
