How to Render an Image in Revit

Autodesk Revit Architecture enables architects to design 3-D models of just about any building plan they can conceive. Models can be viewed from every angle. Revit's "walkthrough" views even let you inspect the interiors of your models. When you've found a snapshot or series of shots that you feel exemplifies your model, you can render down your camera view to an image or project file.

      Launch Revit. Click on the "Revit" button, denoted by the "R" icon, to access the Revit context menu. Highlight the menu's "Open" heading, yhen click on the "Project" option. Locate the project you'd like to work with, using the file explorer window that appears.

      Click the "View" tab. Highlight the "Create panel" option in the context menu that appears beneath the "View" tab, then click the view type you would like to use to extract and render your image.

      Return to the "View" tab, then highlight the "Create Panel" heading again. Highlight the "3D View" option and then click on the menu's "Camera" option.

      Click the 3D image to place the camera. Drag the camera to adjust your view, then click on the "Rendering" menu's "Render" option to render your image.

      Click the Rendering menu's "Save to Project" button after the image has rendered to save the render image to your project. Select the Render menu's "Export" option to save the rendering to your computer as an image file.
