How to Decorate a Rock With Ink
Rocks are generally accessible with little or no cost involved, making them ideal to use for craft projects. You can turn a rock or a series of rocks into nearly anything you can imagine with time and creativity. Use ink to decorate a rock that bears your name or has a detailed design that complements the decor in your room. Set out multiple rocks with a variety of materials if you are hosting a craft project with a group of people.

1
Wash the rocks with water and a soft cloth, if necessary, to remove any dirt or debris, which can interfere with your decorating project.
-
2
Paint the rock a plain color, such as black or white, if you want the ink to stand out. Lighter colors will provide the easiest background to decorate.
-
-
3
Draw or write on the rock with a thick-tipped or gel ink pen. Create scrolling designs that look like a henna tattoo or write a message or your name.
-
4
Use an ink pad or liquid ink to decorate the rock for a more intricate design. For example, use decorative rubber stamps with an ink pad or dip feathers and other objects in the ink to drag across the rock leaving a pattern.
-
5
Embellish the rock by gluing glitter, beads, rhinestones or other extras around the ink pattern and design.
