How to Use the Firefox SWF Catcher
Flash Downloader is a free extension for the Mozilla Firefox Web browser. Flash Downloader (also known as "SWF catcher" because its installer is named "swfcatcher.xpi") allows you to save a local copy of a ShockWave Flash movie available on the World Wide Web. After having saved a local copy, you can decompile its code and make modifications.

Launch Firefox by double-clicking on its desktop icon.

Navigate to the "How to Install Sothink Flash Downloader For Firefox?" Web page, then click on "swfcatcher.xpi." Firefox will prompt you for confirmation before installing the extension; click "Install Now." Click on "Restart" when prompted about whether you want to restart the browser to have the new extension take effect.

Press "Alt-O" to bring up the Flash Downloader side bar that lists all SWF objects in the current page.

Navigate to the website that displays a SWF movie you want to download.

Switch to the Flash Downloader side bar, then right-click on the entry corresponding to the movie you want to download (it will have an icon that looks like a sheet of paper with a DVD on top), then select "Save." When the process completes, Flash Downloader will have created a local copy of the movie on your hard disk.
