How to Write a Signature in Thunderbird

How to Write a Signature in Thunderbird thumbnail
Like physical letters, emails can have your unique signature added to the end of them.

An email signature is a block of text or an image that your email client automatically appends to every message you send. Common signatures include your name and contact information, a famous quotation you especially like or a scan of your signed name. The open-source Thunderbird email client makes it easy for you to create any signature you like simply entering your message or HTML source into the text box provided.

Instructions

    • 1

Open Thunderbird. Select "Tools" from the menubar, and click "Account Settings."

    • 2

Enter your signature into the large box labeled "Signature text:". There is no length limit, but keep it fairly short to be considerate of your email's recipient. If you want to mark up your signature with HTML code, check the "Use HTML" box.

    • 3

Click "OK" to save your changes. All future emails will now have your signature message appended to them.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can also save your signature in a text, HTML or image file and give Thunderbird the path to it, instead.
