How to Make Origami Spaceships

Folding an origami spaceship is like folding a paper airplane; it takes patience and concentration. This spaceship leaves a little wiggle room to customize it to your liking. Finishing touches, such as painting your spaceship or adding logos and stripes, give color and depth to your figure. Perched on a shelf or hanging from a thread, an origami spaceship can be used as a decoration.

Instructions

    • 1

Fold your paper in half lengthwise. Fold one corner all the way over on top of itself, meeting the opposite edge, and unfold. Repeat with the other corner. Fold the sides in, meeting in the middle, to make a triangle shape. Rotate your paper and repeat the folds at the opposite end.

    • 2

Fold the sides between the triangles over on top of themselves, meeting in the middle and creating an arrow on each end. Fold each corner of the top layer of one of the arrows over so that the angled edges meet in the middle and you create a diamond.

    • 3

Fold the opposing arrow up over the middle diamond, just past the halfway point. Unfold the middle diamond flaps, and place the folded opposing arrow inside the flaps. Refold the middle diamond, bringing the top layer of the folded opposing arrow on top of the middle diamond.

    • 4

Fold the top layer of the arrow in the middle over on top of itself to make a pointed triangle. Flip your paper over and fold the corners of the top arrow over on top of themselves, making a diagonal line from the tip to the wings. Fold the wings halfway over on top of themselves, points facing up.
