How to Compliment your Spouse
Every day, husbands and wives will do little things for one another. For instance, a wife will wake up in the morning and make the coffee, while the husband will get the kids ready for school. As time wears on, there may be less communication and compliments, putting a strain on the relationship and making both spouses feel unappreciated. Giving small and large compliments at the appropriate times will help keep the spark alive in a marriage.

1
Thank your spouse for the little things she does for you. For example, tell your wife that you enjoyed tonight's dinner or inform your husband that you appreciate him filling up your car with gas. Take the time every day to appreciate each other.

2
Praise your spouse on his appearance, when it is appropriate. Tell your husband he looks handsome after shaving in the morning. Let your wife know she looks beautiful when you attend a dinner party. Save your compliments for when it counts, instead of throwing out empty words.

3
Tell your spouse a specific compliment that only the two of you will understand. For instance, tell your wife that only she knows how to scratch your back the right way. Let your husband know that he gives the best foot rubs in the world. These personalized compliments will tell your spouse that you have a special intimacy.
-
4
Inform your spouse what he performing well intimately. Many people feel insecure about their sexual prowess, so a compliment will be well received. No compliment will go further than a compliment pertaining to sexual performance.
-
5
Look your spouse in the eye and take his hand when giving him a compliment. Tell him a quality that you admire or tell him how much you enjoy his company. Looking directly at your spouse and touching him will let him know that your compliment is genuine.
-
6
Offer your spouse a spontaneous compliment in front of a room full of people. Choose a small event, such as giving the compliment in front of your kids, or stand up at a wedding reception and tell the crowd something special about your partner. When you speak highly of your spouse in front of others, the compliment may have even more significance.
