  • 1-inch velvet ribbon
  • Scissors
  • Measuring tape
  • Two 1-inch ribbon end clamps
  • Pliers
  • Buttons
  • Beads
  • Jewelry pieces
  • Jump rings
  • Headpins
  • Rubber stamp(s)
  • Ironing board
  • Iron

Instructions

      Measure and cut a 12-inch piece of ribbon.

      Place the 12-inch ribbon on a flat surface. Place the ribbon end clamps on the flat surface and line up the clamps with the ends of the ribbon. Press the clamps closed on the ends of the ribbon with pliers.

      Place the rubber stamps on the ironing board with the rubber side of the stamps facing upwards.

      Position the ribbon on the stamp in the desired location. Iron the ribbon on the stamp at high heat for approximately 20 seconds. Remove the ribbon from the stamp and allow the velvet to cool.

      Adorn the ribbon with old buttons and jewelry pieces, as well as beads. Attach buttons and jewelry pieces to the end clamps with small jump rings.

      Place beads on a headpin and attach the beads to the small loop on the end clamps with jump rings.

Tips & Warnings

  • Decorate the ribbon with various rubber stamp images along the length of the ribbon. Use alphabet rubber stamps to write the names of people along the bookmark if you are giving it as a present.
