How to Change Top Friends on YouTube
Your YouTube account contains a friends list for social networking and tracking video uploads. Your friends are listed in a box on your channel's home page. On every YouTube channel, only seven friends are visible directly from the default channel view. To view additional friends, a user must click "see all" and browse the list. You cannot directly edit your seven "top friends" using YouTube's account settings, but you can manipulate the list if you know how it works. YouTube's top friends are simply the your most recent friends, so you can change the top friends list by removing individual people as friends and then adding them back as new friends.

Open your Web browser and visit youtube.com.

Click "Sign In" in the upper right corner. If you see your name listed in the corner then you're already signed in and you can skip to Step 4.

Enter your username and password. After you're logged in you automatically return to the YouTube home page.

Click on your name in the upper right corner. A list of options appears beneath your cursor.

Click "Channel" to visit your main channel page.

Scroll to the "Friends" box and click "See All."

Click on the friend that you want to bump to the top of your list. When you click on the friend's name or picture, his profile appears on your screen.

Click "Remove Friend" on the right side of the screen beneath the user's profile picture.

Click "OK" when asked if you are sure you want to remove the friend. The page reloads and the friend is removed from your list.

Click "Add Friend." After the user confirms your friend request, her name and picture appears at the very top of your friend's list. This workaround remains in effect until you add additional friends. Each new friend is automatically bumped to the top of your list.

Tips & Warnings
It's polite and prudent to contact users in advance to let them know why you are temporarily removing them as friends.
