You can customize Google Maps with your personal locations.

Google Maps allows its users to view street maps or satellite photos of most countries in the world. When a user clicks on a pre-defined point of interest, a bubble with additional information displays. Users who are logged into their Google accounts can customize maps to a greater extent, by creating additional points of interest and annotating them with whatever information they choose.

Instructions

    • 1

Launch a web browser and navigate to "http://maps.google.com". Click on "Sign in," then enter your Google user name and password and press "Enter."

    • 2

Navigate Google Maps to the area of interest; you can do that by entering an address in the text box and clicking "Search," or clicking on the current map and dragging it with the mouse, then zooming in and out using the sliding control at the left of the map.

    • 3

Click "My maps," then "Create a new map." Enter the title the annotated map will have, then click "Save." Right-click on the spot where you want to create a customized bubble and select "Add a placemark." Type a name for the bubble into the "Title" field, and a description. Click "OK." At that point, your personalized map will contain the new bubble.
