Link your HTC Evo smartphone with your Facebook account to keep in touch with your Facebook friends and contacts while you're on the move. This allows you to communicate with your Facebook contacts via SMS text message. This Facebook Mobile feature notifies you of wall posts, status updates and friend requests by sending text messages to your HTC Evo. You can also update Facebook with your new and photos by sending text messages from your phone. Link your HTC Evo to Facebook by registering for text message updates on your Facebook Account Options page.

      Sign in to Facebook.

      Click "Account" in the Facebook navigation menu, then select "Account Settings" from the context menu.

      Click the "Mobile" tab on the account settings page. Click the "Register for Facebook Text Messages" link under the "Activate a Phone" heading. Select your HTC Evo's carrier network and your country from the drop-down menu. Click "Next."

      Write down or memorize the text number and single-letter Facebook code in the "Activate Facebook Texts" dialog box. Leave Facebook open in your Web browser.

      Switch on your HTC Evo. Tap the "Messages" application icon on the home screen, then tap "Compose Message." Type the text number that Facebook supplied in the previous step into the text message address field. Type the single-letter code into the main message body. Tap the "Send" button.

      Wait for Facebook to send a text message response containing your full confirmation code. Open the Facebook text message and note down the confirmation code.

      Return to your Web browser. Type the confirmation code into the input field in the dialog box. Click the "Next" button, followed by the "OK" button to link your HTC Evo to Facebook and activate the service.
