How to Draw a Line in Flash
Adobe Flash is a program used across the world for creating Internet-based animations, interactive games and websites that push the boundaries of design. The program's overall versatility, compounded by its ability to create scalable vector graphics, offers the user a wide variety of tools and capabilities that are unsurpassed by similar programs. Drawing lines and other simple shapes in Flash is the first step to creating new animations, websites and other projects.

Open Adobe Flash and create a new file by selecting "New..." under "File" in the program's menu bar.

Select the type of document you wish to create by choosing either "General" or "Templates" in the "New Document" window. "General" offers the choice of a variety of Flash file types and "Templates" provides predetermined types and sizes named according to their pixel resolution.

When the new, blank document appears, open the Tools palette by selecting it under "Window" in the menu bar. The Tools Palette will appear, containing a large selection of drawing, selecting and editing tools.

Select either the Line Tool or the Pen Tool from the Tools palette. The Line Tool icon appears as a single, straight line, while the Pen Tool icon looks like the tip of a fountain pen.

Click and drag to create a line using the Line Tool, or click once to create a start point and then a second time to create an end point if using the Pen Tool.

Open the Properties palette under "Window" in Adobe Flash's menu bar to gain the ability to change the stroke, or width, of your line, as well as its color and style.
