How to Care for a Savannah Cat
Savannah cats are a popular breed because of their exotic looks. They are tall cats with large ears and long bodies. Their markings resemble those of a leopard, with spots of various sizes in patterns. The Savannah cat is a hybrid breed with Bengal and Siamese ancestors. Savannah cats do well with people because they are social animals. With proper health care, they can live up to 20 years.

1
Give the Savannah cat water daily in a bowl.
-
2
Feed the cat high quality dry and/or canned food. Keep dry food around at all times. This food helps clean the teeth. Give the canned food once or twice a day. The canned food provides water. According to the Urban Safari website, Savannah cats don't need to eat any differently than other breeds of cats.

3
Groom the Savannah cat with a brush at least once a week. Grooming removes loose hair and cuts down on fur balls. All cats vomit up hair that accumulates in the digestive tract due to grooming.
-
4
Keep your cat indoors. Although they may resemble the big cats of the savannah of Africa, they are domestic animals who live longer if kept indoors, reports the ASPCA.
-
5
See a vet for advice on immunization. Savannah cats need to be vaccinated just like other cats. Your vet will recommend which vaccines the cat needs and when to get them.
-
6
Give your cat toys to play with. Cats are curious creatures and need to be entertained to keep from getting bored.
