How to Use PBP Files

Play by play (PBP) files are PlayStation control files that allow you to play game demos and download online and some homemade ("homebrew") PlayStation games. To use PBP files on your computer, you must transfer them to the PlayStation device. This requires getting them on a CD, which the PlayStation can read as if it were an official PlayStation game purchase.

Instructions

    • 1

Insert a blank CD into your computer.

    • 2

Click "Burn Files to disc using Windows Explorer" in the box that pops up.

    • 3

Open the folder with the PBP file(s) you want to burn.

    • 4

Drag the file(s) onto the empty CD window. Note that you need to keep a game's files together. Some games or demos will have only one PBP file; others may have several. Burning only some of them will not work.

    • 5

      Click "Burn to disc."

    • 6

Eject the CD from your computer and insert it into your PlayStation. When you turn on the device, the game on the PBP file(s) will load.
