How to Split Tabs in Firefox

Firefox is a Web browser that allows you to open Web pages within multiple tabs. You can also use a Firefox add-on called Tile Tabs to open multiple Web pages within a single tab, thus allowing you to keep an eye on one Web page while working on another. This add-on is available for free from the Mozilla Firefox website.

Instructions

    • 1

Download the Tile Tabs add-on from Mozilla.com.

    • 2

Click "Install Now" to install the Tile Tabs add-on.

    • 3

Restart Firefox by clicking the "Restart Now" button when prompted.

    • 4

Right-click the top of the Firefox window and select "Menu Bar."

    • 5

Click the "Tile" option on the menu bar. Point to "Tile Tab" and select "Above," "Left," "Right" or "Below" to split an existing tab. Click a split section of the tab and use the URL bar to open a new Web page within.
