How to Get EDU Backlinks to Stick thumbnail
A link to your website from a university's site can boost traffic.

If you're looking to boost your website's ranking in Google search results, you should be aiming for backlinks at .edu websites. Google places a high value on websites that .edu sites link to, but getting that precious backlink isn't easy. However, there are methods you can use to find out which .edu sites are linking to your competitors and then get your site linked with them as well to boost traffic.

Instructions

    • 1

Type "edu profile" in the search bar on a social news website, such as Digg, Reddit or Slashdot, which will allow you to search for forum profiles of users at .edu sites. Look for a "View Profile of" or "Viewing Profile" link. Click on the profile to see if it is active.

    • 2

Register a profile of your own on the forum. Update your profile with an image (which may keep your profile from being deactivated) and a signature containing a link to your site.

    • 3

Post a comment introducing yourself, which gives you a backlink from the.edu website.

    • 4

Try to stay active on the forum by making meaningful, relevant posts from time to time. If you don't use the account, it may be deactivated after a time. Don't spam, as that can get you blacklisted from the forum.

    • 5

Repeat this with as many profiles as possible.
