How to Stiffen Cool Whip
Cool Whip is a sweet dessert topping that is similar to whipped cream. When left refrigerated, Cool Whip becomes soft and fluffy, which makes it easy to scoop out to use as topping. However, if you want to stiffen the Cool Whip for a recipe, you can do so using an easy technique that involves using a freezer. Transfer the Cool Whip to a glass container and place it in the freezer. A glass container is better than the plastic packaging because it will cool evenly to stiffen the Cool Whip.

Allow the Cool Whip to sit for 15 minutes, stirring every five minutes with a spoon to make sure it doesn't begin to freeze.

Remove the Cool Whip from the freezer and use it in your preferred recipe immediately.

Tips & Warnings
Once the stiffened Cool Whip has been used in the recipe, place it in the refrigerator if it is to be consumed soon after. If the dessert won't get eaten for a few hours or more, place it in the freezer and remove it to thaw 15 minutes before eating.
Never mix or spread stiffened Cool Whip over anything even remotely warm or else it will melt into a thin sauce.
