Making an indoor rainbow is simple and fun and a great project to do with your kids. You can complete this project with everyday household items, making this a perfect (and free) way to spend an afternoon with your child.

Things You'll Need

  • Clear drinking glass
  • Water
  • Plain white paper
  • Masking tape
  • Table or countertop
  • Flashlight

Instructions

      Fill a clear drinking glass with water.

      Set the glass on the edge of a table or countertop, and place a sheet of white paper on the floor, slightly in front of the table or counter.

    • 3

      Place a piece of masking tape across the right and left sides of the flashlight's head, leaving only a small area for light to escape.

    • 4

      Turn on the flashlight and point it downward, through the glass, at the paper on the floor.

      You should be able to see a rainbow of light.
