How to Deal With Conceited Coworkers
Conceited people think too highly of themselves. They feel they are better than others, and they tend to belittle people to make them feel inferior. Handling a conceited coworker can be quite difficult. But it can be done effectively by using a few methods.

Ask questions to get to know the conceited person. It will help to know where the conceit comes from. Be caring and ask questions. Conceited people usually are insecure and have low self esteem.

Ignore the conceited behavior and act friendly. Treat the conceited person the way you would treat any other co-worker. Nagative behavior towards the conceited person will make the workplace an uncomfortable environment.

Impress the conceited person with skill that you have. If you are able to do something better than the conceited person, there should be no more attempts to make you feel inferior.

Confront the conceited person with the your feelings regarding his or her attitude.. Act in a courteous and professional manner and state your feelings. It may just be a misunderstanding, or the conceited person may be unaware of the behavior.

Document the behavior of the conceited person if it is interrupting work. If work remains incomplete or co-workers are disturbed by the person's behavior, start documenting the issues and situations. Be specific and include times, dates and witnesses. Present your evidence to Human Resources if the issue is unresolvable.
