How to Make a Caveman Necklace
No caveman or -- woman -- costume is complete without a little jewelry. One of the best things about "caveman" jewelry is that you can wear it more than once. If you plan accordingly, a primitive necklace made of claws and bones could also complement a punk band T-shirt or even a Gothic ensemble. The materials may look primitive, but your style doesn't have to be.

- Fake sinew cord
- Scissors
- Large matte stone beads: round
- Claw beads
- Shark's tooth beads

Cut a piece of fake sinew cord about 12 inches long. A 12-inch necklace is long enough that it'll dangle and click, but short enough that it is less likely to get caught on anything. Tie one end of the sinew into a loop that is just large enough for one of the large stone beads to pass through it.

Lay out the matte stone beads, separating them by color and setting one aside. Lava rock beads work well, because they look hand-hewn. Raw chips of amber, tourmaline and petrified wood are also suitable.

Slip three or four stone beads onto the sinew thread. Create a pattern, or simply slip them on at random.

Add a claw bead to the necklace, along with a few more stone beads. Add a shark's tooth bead, then a few more stone beads. The stone beads should separate all of the larger claw and tooth beads. You can create a pattern, or string the beads at random.

Retrieve the large, round bead you set aside in Step 2. Slip it onto the sinew and wrap the sinew down against the side of the bead. Tie the end of the sinew to the sinew thread, just below the last bead.

Secure your new caveman necklace around your neck by slipping the last bead through the loop on the other end of the necklace.
