How to Make a Crocodile With Food
Create desserts shaped like crocodiles as an afternoon activity in the home or at school. They can also work as a contribution to a community bake sale, children's birthday party or as food options for a screening of the "Crocodile Dundee" films or a marathon of the late Steve Irwin's show "The Crocodile Hunter." Include crocodile facts with each cake if desired, such as the saltwater crocodile's role as the largest crocodilian animal on the planet.

1
Cut an 8-inch round cake in the shape of a crocodile head and body with a knife. If you do not have the time or the resources to bake a cake, use two plain, squared-shaped snack cakes to cut out the head and body. You may have to scrape frosting off the snack cakes with your knife.

2
Attach legs made from mini marshmallows to the sides of the body. Use toothpicks to stick two or three together in a row, then stick the toothpicks in the sides of the cake.

3
Cut licorice whips on angles with your knife to create the thick, pointed crocodile tail. The "inner" licorice strips will probably not need much trimming; rather, focus on the "outer" strips for making a triangular tail. Bind the tail together using string or frosting.

Decorate the crocodile cake with greenish-tinted frosting. Different shades of green can be used to create the crocodile's back ridges if desired. Use brown candy-coated chocolates as the crocodile eyes and candy corn for the teeth.
