How to Re-shine Scratched Chrome
There are only a few ways to re-shine scratched chrome. Chrome can become scratched from everyday use and weather. Before the scratched chrome can be re-shined, the scratches must first be removed from the surface. The scratch-removal process is very delicate due to the fact that the chrome is a thin material than can damage easily. Once the scratches are removed, the chrome can be re-shined by applying a chrome polish over the entire chrome surface.

Buff the polish off of the scratches with a clean soft cloth. Add more polish to the scratches and to the steel wool. Gently scrub the polish into the scratches with small, circular motions. Wipe away the dried polish with a clean, soft cloth.

Continue applying the polish to the scratches with the steel wool until the scratches are no longer visible. Once the scratches are gone, apply one last coat of polish to the chrome surface with a soft cloth instead of the steel wool, again making small, circular motions. Once the polish dries and hazes over, wipe the polish off by making small, circular motions with another soft cloth.

Add carnauba wax to a clean, soft cloth. Add the wax to the freshly polished chrome surface by making small, circular motions with the soft cloth. Wait a few minutes for the wax to dry and haze over. Wipe away the dried wax with a clean, soft cloth. Continue adding more coats of the carnauba wax to the chrome until you achieve the desired shine.
