There are many uses for fabric circles when making arts and crafts. Use circular pieces to create small potpourri sachets, party favor bags, flowers, handmade coasters or decorative gift tags. Craft scissors will make a clean line around the circle, and pinking shears create an eye-catching zigzag pattern. Be sure to use fabric such as cotton or linen, which won't fray during the cutting process.

Things You'll Need:

  • Chalk Marker
  • Pins (Optional)
  • Fabric
  • Felt
  • Sharp Sewing Scissors Or Pinking Shears

Place a circular template, such as a DVD or small plate, onto the felt.

Trace around the felt template using a chalk marker, which won't leave a permanent mark on the fabric, and then cut it out.

Pin the template on the fabric prior to cutting to hold it in place.

Use a pair of sharp sewing scissors or pinking shears to cut the circle out of the fabric. Follow the template lines precisely to create a clean, even cut.
