How to Get Through the Rock Tunnel in "FireRed"
In "Pokemon FireRed" the Rock Tunnel is an underground cavern that leads to Lavender Town, a key destination on your itinerary. Although there are other routes that connect with Lavender Town, gatekeepers and a sleepy Snorlax will block your way. You have no other option but to brave the dark, two-level maze. Throughout the Rock Tunnel, wild Pokemon and rival trainers will continually test your abilities until you emerge into the daylight.

Tips & Warnings
Although there are 15 rival trainers throughout the Rock Tunnel, many of them possess the same types of Pokemon. Bring a strong Water-type attack to defeat the hikers who specialize in Ground- and Rock-type Pokemon. Fire- and Flying-type moves will defeat the picnickers who specialize in Normal- and Grass-type Pokemon. Bring healing items to keep your team healthy between battles. All of the trainers have Pokemon around level 20.
The wild Pokemon that inhabit this cave are Geodude, Zubat, Mankey, Machop and Onix. If you are not interested in capturing these species, spray Repel to reduce their encounter rates. These wild Pokemon are between levels 13 and 17.
