Xerox 5310 Copier Instructions
The Xerox 5310 is a small office copier. The unit is generally easy to use and troubleshoot, but setting it up properly from the start can help you avoid some common problems. 1
Place the Xerox 5310 copier on a solid and stable surface. If the copier is not sitting level, the toner could shift and cause problems with print quality.
-
2
Open the front of the copier by pressing the buttons at the left and right side of the copier. Remove the toner cartridge from its packaging and remove any protective tape. Insert the toner cartridge until it cannot go any further, then pull the green lever up to lock it into place.

3
Pull the paper tray out and load plain paper. Adjust the backstop so that it is tight against the paper.
-
4
Plug the Xerox 5310 in and press the "Power" button. Wait for the unit to warm up, then lift the lid and place the original face down on the glass. Press the "Copy" button and inspect your copies carefully.
-
5
Remove the toner cartridge and check for packaging tape or other packing materials if the copy comes out blank. The toner cartridge ships with a piece of plastic tape to protect it in transit. If this tape is not removed, the toner cannot reach the paper.
