How Can I Save JPEG Format in GIMP? thumbnail
It is easy to save JPEG images like this in GIMP.

GIMP is a freeware photo editor. It can also be used to create graphics for print or the Web. GIMP has many of the same tools and functions as pricey commercial graphics applications, but those features are often in a different location or named differently in GIMP. Even the save dialog is a bit different and can take some getting used to. However, you can still save files in your favorite formats, such as JPEG.

Instructions

    • 1

Open GIMP. Select "File" and choose "Open." In the dialog that appears, locate and open a project you would like to save as a JPEG.

    • 2

Select "File" from the menu at the top, and choose "Save." The "Save Image" dialog will open.

    • 3

Go to the bottom of the dialog, and click on "Select File Type." Scroll down and select "JPEG." Name the file, choose the location in which you want to save the file, and click "Save."
