Electric lock picks, or lock pick guns, are devices that quickly and easily can open most locks without a key. They work by impacting the pins inside of a lock and bouncing them until the lock can be turned. Electric lock pins are most effective for pin and tumbler locks. Instructions

      Insert the needle of the electric lock pick into the lock until it reaches the back of the of the cylinder, then pull it back slightly. This gives the needle enough room to vibrate properly but still contact all the pins.

      Insert the tension wrench into the lock below the needle. Turn the tension wrench very lightly in the direction required to open the lock.

      Press the trigger on the lock pick. Use pulses rather than running the pick continuously.

      Vary the amount of pressure on your tension wrench as you trigger the unit. Keep your touch light. Eventually the pins will clear the cylinder and the lock will be opened.

Tips & Warnings

  • Electric lock picks require practice to be used properly. Use several disposable locks to develop your technique.

  • Graphite oil can be used to loosen the pins in a lock if they are stuck.

  • Electric lock picks are very destructive to locks, and after multiple uses will damage a pin and tumbler lock. So use an electric lock pick only in situations where damage to your lock is not a concern.

  • Electric lock picks are not legal in all 50 states. Consult your local laws before purchasing and using one.
