How to Draw a Calligraphy Baby Panda
Calligraphy is an ancient visual art form that transforms basic lettering into beautiful script. Asian cultures have adapted their own unique styles for using calligraphy to create letters in each of the languages. In more recent times, calligraphy has been paired with relevant images to provide a deeper look into the artist's creative mind. If you would like to draw a picture of a baby panda with calligraphy strokes, determine any words you wish to write and select pictures of this particular animal to help you create the image.

1
Draw a medium-sized circle in the middle of your page to act as the guideline for the panda's head. Use light pencil strokes to construct this circle, as you will be adding and erasing lines throughout the drawing.
-
2
Sketch out a larger, oval-like object underneath the head of the panda to create the body of this animal. Make sure the bottom of the panda's body is slightly larger than the top where the neck connects to the head. However, keep the body only a bit larger than the head because this is a baby panda.

3
Draw two ovals in the middle of the panda's head to represent the black patches of fur that surround each of the eyes. Draw a small circle inside each of these patches, making sure to include the small pupil of each feature.
-
4
Create the triangular nose in the middle of these two eye patches, using slightly curved vertical lines to show the three-dimensional aspect of this facial feature. Draw a U-shaped line underneath the nose to act as the mouth of the panda.
-
5
Add circular features to the top of the panda's head to create the ears. Draw rigid lines on each side and between each of the ears to create the furry texture of this animal.
-
6
Draw the front legs of the baby panda using rounded, rectangular features. Add small ovals at the bottom of each of these limbs to create the paws of this animal. Divide the paws into small sections with vertical lines and sketch small triangles to create the toes and claws.
-
7
Create the more-visible back leg using a tubular, L-shaped object that attaches near the rear of the baby panda's body. Use light, wispy pencil strokes to give this hind leg hairy texture. Create the secondary hind leg using a similar technique as the more visible one, making sure that it is mostly out of the way.
-
8
Divide the body of the panda with a light vertical line to designate the parts of the body that are white from those that are black. Likewise, draw a small line on each of the ears and the rear end of the panda for the same effect.
-
9
Look at your calligraphy lettering examples and choose the style that best relates to the drawing in mind. Instead of the solid black that accents the specific areas of the panda's body, you will be using letters to create these features.
-
10
Move your calligraphy pen slowly over necessary areas of the panda's black fur to create calligraphy letters and symbols. Use larger letters, such as the "M" or "W," to help fill in the larger areas of the panda's body. For small areas, use punctuation and other calligraphy-styled symbols.
-
11
Wait for the ink to dry completely, then carefully erase the pencil marks on the page. Check your drawing of the panda with the picture you used as the reference guide. The white areas should be completely blank, while the dark areas are filled in with the calligraphy font.
