How to Convert Pecks to Bushels

Besides being lyrics from a popular song, a bushel and a peck are both actual units of measurement. Both a bushel and peck measure capacity in both the the U.S. Customary and the British Imperial Systems, but in the U.S.they are only used for dry measurement while in the UK they can be used for both liquid and dry units. Since there are four pecks in a bushel, converting the measurements is quite easy.

Instructions

    • 1

Add the number of pecks you have.

    • 2

Divide the sum of the pecks by four. For example, if you have 400 pecks, divide them by four.

    • 3

Look at the number you get doing the division. This is the number of bushels. For example, 400 pecks equals 100 bushels.

Tips & Warnings
