How to Store Scallions
Scallions, or green onions, are available as either bulb-producing onions that have been picked young or onion varieties that do not produce bulbs at all. When shopping for scallions look for bright white bulbs and deeply green stalks. They should be heavy for their size and crisp throughout. If a bunch is wilted in any area, or whole aspects are slimy, avoid them. Scallions bring an onion flavor to food without saturating the palate, and are useful in a variety of dishes and cooking methods. Does this Spark an idea?
