How to Apologize to Your Lover
If you hurt your lover and you need to make things better, start by apologizing. You have to take responsibility for your actions and not blame anyone else. You must be sincere and truly contrite. Remember it takes a big person to admit he is wrong, and an effective apology will go a long way in maintaining a healthy relationship.

1
Explain to your lover that you sincerely regret your actions and you know you were wrong. Tell her you feel badly about the pain you caused her. For instance, if you made her cry because you yelled at her, tell her how much you regret hurting her.
-
2
Say the words "I'm sorry." You should say this specifically, and not only say that you feel badly about what happened. You have to say that you are sorry for your actions and the pain you caused.

3
Tell your lover that you will not repeat your mistake. Tell her what you plan to do so that it doesn't happen again. For instance, if you yelled at her, tell her in the future you will take a deep breath and step back. You will walk away for five minutes. Tell her you will not allow yourself to get angry in the heat of the moment and yell at her.
-
4
Ask your lover to forgive you and tell her you hope she can eventually accept your apology. This shows your sincerity and realization that you have caused hurt. You are accepting responsibility and not placing the blame elsewhere.
-
5
Be humble and give your lover time to get over the hurt you caused. Show your lover that you understand if she is not ready to accept your apology and forgive you. For instance, if she wants you to sleep on the couch, don't argue. Don't attack and get angry. Accept the ramifications of your actions. You were wrong, so give your lover time to get over the situation.
