How to Use a Diamond Stone Two-Way Sharpener
A diamond stone is covered with micron-sized diamonds and is harder than steel. This feature allows you to use a diamond stone as a knife sharpener. Over time, the blades of your knives are likely to get dull and worn out, which will make them less effective cutting tools. Use of a knife sharpener will correct this issue by giving your knife blades new life. There are several types of sharpeners available. A two-way sharpener, for example, will likely have two surfaces which will each sharpen your knife to a different degree. The coarser the surface, the more it will grind down your knife, and the smoother the surface, the smoother your knife blade will get. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Choose the side of the diamond stone sharpener to use. For a rougher, but deeper sharpening effect, use the coarser side. To get a smooth finish on your blade, use the smoother side.
-
2
Add water to the diamond sharpener. Wet stones are more effective knife-sharpening tools than dry ones.
-
-
3
Angle your blade against the diamond stone. A smaller angle will result in a smaller, sharper edge on your blade.
-
4
Move the blade against the diamond stone about 30-to-40 times using the same angle. This will effectively sharpen the blade.
-
5
Turn the knife over and repeat on the opposite side to complete the sharpening process.
