The henna plant has been used for centuries as beauty product and dye to add temporary tatoos to the skin, and to highlight or dye the hair. For hair dye, henna leaves are crushed and mixed with an acidic liquid. The semi-permanent dye will last up to three weeks with normal, everyday washing. To remove the fading henna color from your hair, treat it with a mixture of plain yogurt and mineral oil.

Drape a towel over your shoulders and soak a cotton ball with rubbing alcohol.

Rub the cotton balls over the ends of your hair. Avoid applying the mixture to hair roots that are not covered with the henna as this will lead to dry hair and possible breakage.

Allow the rubbing alcohol to sit on the hair for 10 to 15 minutes.

Blend a mixture of 1 cup plain yogurt and 1/2-cup mineral oil in a bowl.

Stir the ingredients together and apply it your entire head, coating the hair thoroughly, including the roots.

Wrap your hair carefully with a loose layer of plastic cling wrap.

Set a blow dryer to medium heat. Blow it over the plastic wrap covering your head, moving it around slowly for 25 to 45 minutes. This will heat the ingredients causing the henna to fade from your hair.

Remove the cling wrap from your hair and rinse out the product with lukewarm water.

Wash your hair with a clarifying shampoo. Work the shampoo into a lather and rinse it away with lukewarm water.
