How to Tether Using ICS Via USB

Tethering, also known as ICS (Internet Connection Sharing), is used with many smartphones. When you use tethering, you can connect your phone to the Internet through the phone's Internet connection. If you would like to tether your Internet connection from your phone to your computer, you will need to register through your phone service to add tethering to your phone plan. You don't have to be a computer programmer to enable tethering. You can do it yourself with little hassle.

      Contact your phone's service provider and add tethering to your plan. This will differ from service to service.

      Open the phone's menu and then activate the modem. Refer to your phone's manual to enable the modem.

      Connect your phone to your computer through the USB cable that came with the phone.

      Click "Start" and then click "Control Panel."

      Click "Network" and then click "Set up a Connection or Network."

      Type #777 into the "Dial-up Phone Number" field.

      Enter the username and password that was given to you by your phone provider.
