How to Make Yahoo My Default Email Instead of Outlook

Windows systems come bundled with Microsoft Outlook email service. It is the default email program that appears when you click a link to an email address or want to email a file via the "Send To" option in the right-click menu. However, you can change your default email service to Yahoo! if you want. You must have Yahoo! Toolbar version 7.2 or newer installed on your computer to make Yahoo! email the default. The Toolbar comes with Yahoo! Messenger, and you can download it from the Yahoo! website as well.

Instructions

1. Click the "Windows" icon on your Desktop screen. Select "Control Panel."

2. Click "Network and Internet" and select "Internet Options."

3. Click the "Programs" tab. Click the "Set programs" button under the "Internet programs" section. Click "Set your default programs."

4. Click to select Yahoo! from the list of programs that appears. Click "Set this program as default" and click "OK." Yahoo! is now the default email service.
