How to Reply to Tweets
Twitter, being one of the better-known social networking sites, works through messages called "tweets" and an individual's "followers" replying to those tweets. A tweet consists of 120 characters or approximately one to two sentences. These tweets can include text, hash tags, interests, links and the person's name they're replaying to. To reply to a tweet, users can click on the small arrow to the right of the tweet or type "@username" in their tweet field.

Hover your mouse cursor over the tweet you'd like to reply to on your home page or your "@ Replies," and click on the arrow icon underneath of it. Type your reply in the box that appears, and click on the "Tweet" button. Keep your tweets under 120 characters by using shorter words or breaking one long tweet into two smaller parts. Use sites such as "tinyurl.com" to shorten your hyperlinks, leaving you more room for writing replies as well as hash tags.
