How to Prep a Pomegranate
Pomegranates look similar to a large apple, with a red toned skin and a seeded center. The name of the pomegranate comes from the Latin words pomum and granatus, which mean apple and seeded respectively. Pomegranates are high in potassium, vitamin C and antioxidants. The edible seeds of the fruit bear a lot of fiber. Buy the fruit when it has bright coloring and a tight, flawless skin. Store in the refrigerator for up to a month before using.
