Firefox Doesn't Remove Cache

The Firefox cache is where temporary files, such as images, scripts and other website information, are stored. The cache allows webpages to load quicker, but it also allows other users to view private information that may be stored on the browser. Two methods are available to remove the cache from the "Tools" menu.

Instructions

  1. Method 1

    • 1

Click "Tools," then "Clear Recent History."

    • 2

Click the drop-down menu next to "Time range to clear" and choose "Everything."

    • 3

Click the down arrow next to "Details" and put a check mark in the box next to "Cache." Click "Clear Now" to delete the cache.

    Method 2

    • 4

      Click "Tools," then "Options."

    • 5

Click the "Advanced" tab and then select the "Network" tab inside that window.

    • 6

Click "Clear Now" in the "Offline Storage" section. Click "OK."

Tips & Warnings

  • If you are still having problems deleting the cache, try uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox.
