Instructions

  1. Clothes

    • 1

Pick out your basic attire from your closet or a local thrift store. Make sure not to use anything you want to wear again in its original form. Cut a few nicks into the edges of the garments, at the hems, the neck and sleeve ends. Rip the fabric a few inches where you made the cuts.

    • 2

Mix up some dirt and water in a large bowl. Spread some of the mud on the outfit around the seams. Add a little dark green acrylic paint and some paper scraps to the remaining mud. Spread some of the paint/mud/paper scrap mud around the hems and openings of the costume.

    • 3

Draw red dots and stains on some gauze to make "bloody" gauze. Wrap "bloody" gauze around the costume and pin in place with safety pins. Glue a few plastic bugs to the costume. Glue on a few silk flowers, a piece of trash or two, and some gummy or fishing lure worms to your costume. Wrap "bloody" gauze around your shoes.

    Hair and Make-Up

    • 4

Wash your hair and blow dry with your head upside down. Use plenty of maximum hold/maximum texture hair product to get as much body and texture as possible. Back comb your hair in random places to finish a very messy look. Use a piece of "bloody" gauze as a headband. Bobby pin a plastic bug or two.

    • 5

Apply foundation more heavily than normal, in the lightest shade you can find. Apply very thick dark eyeliner and brush on dark eye shadow under the eyes. Dust green eye shadow all over your face, heavier in the hollows of the cheeks and at the temples.

    • 6

Apply dark eye shadow in a zigzag line on one cheek. Squeeze stage blood onto the zigzag line to make an artificial wound. Repeat on forehead and once on each exposed limb or where your clothes are ripped.

    • 7

Put on your ripped, muddied attire. Add ripped tights if you are using a skirt. Now loll your head to the side, walk with a slow stagger and moan and growl intermittently. Your cool zombie girl costume is complete!
