Fill the cup with hot water, and add in 1/2 tsp. of oil soap. Tap the wool with your fingers for 10 minutes, effectively felting the wool into the bottom and sides of the muffin cup. Empty out the soapy water, and fill the cup with hot water again. Tap the wool for 2 minutes to flush out any remaining soap, then empty out the water again. Allow the wool to dry inside the cup for 2 hours.

Fill a round coffee cup with 8 oz. of different colors of wool batting. This batting will become the colorful top of the cupcake.

Empty out the soapy water, and fill the cup with hot water again. Tap the wool for 2 minutes to flush out any remaining soap, then empty out the water again. Fill a plastic sandwich bag with 1 cup of sand and seal it closed. Open a small corner of the bag, and push out any remaining air. Reseal the bag.

    • 6

Insert the sand bag into the bottom of the felted cupcake, then place the top of the cupcake over the sandbag.

    • 7

Sew the top of the felted cupcake onto the bottom of the cupcake using an embroidery needle threaded with colorful embroidery floss. Cut off the excess floss before using.
