How to Use Thunderbird Mail With Embarqmail
If you want to send and receive email from an individual email client, rather than a webmail service, you can set up Mozilla Thunderbird. Mozilla Thunderbird allows you to set up Embarqmail using the POP and SMTP settings. These settings are email settings that regularly check for email updates against the mail server. Mozilla Thunderbird is freeware, open-source email client developed by Mozilla (the makers of Firefox).

Open Mozilla Thunderbird. The Mail Account Setup will open on the first run.

Type in your name, email address and password and press "Enter." Thunderbird will try to set up your account automatically. If the green lights appear, click "Create Account."

Click "Manual Setup" if the account cannot be automatically configured. Enter the incoming address "pop.embarqmail.com" and the outgoing address as "smtp.embarqmail.com" (both without quotes).

Click "Next" and then "Finish."
